Frequently Asked Questions

What families in greater Los Angeles want to know about home health care. Can't find your answer? Call 747-333-0008.

What is home health care and how is it different from a nursing home?

Home health care brings professional medical services directly to your loved one's home — skilled nursing, therapy, and personal care. Unlike a facility, the patient stays in the comfort of their own home, which often supports better recovery.

Does Medicare cover home health care services?

Medicare Part A and Part B may cover home health services for eligible patients, including skilled nursing and therapy. To qualify, a doctor must certify that the patient is homebound and needs skilled care, and the agency must be Medicare-certified. Fidelis is Medicare-certified and ACHC-accredited, and we help with the required paperwork. Final coverage is determined by Medicare based on eligibility.

What does "homebound" mean for Medicare eligibility?

Medicare generally considers a patient homebound if they need help (such as a cane, walker, wheelchair, or another person) to leave home, or if leaving home is medically inadvisable. Homebound does not mean bedbound — occasional trips for medical care, religious services, or family events are allowed. A doctor evaluates and certifies this condition.

How quickly can care begin after I call?

Many patients begin receiving coordinated care within 12 to 48 hours of their first call — even faster in some referral cases. After your consultation, we work with your doctor to obtain the required order, build a care plan, and connect you with the right clinical professionals.

Do I need a doctor's referral to start home health care?

Medicare requires a physician's order to begin home health services. You don't have to arrange this alone — our team can contact your doctor and help coordinate the order and documentation.

What areas do you serve?

Our office is based in Burbank, CA, and we serve most of Southern California — including Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Kern counties. Call 747-333-0008 to confirm we serve your specific area.

What languages does your team speak?

California is one of the most diverse states in the country, and our team reflects that. We work in many of the most widely spoken languages across the state — including Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese), Tagalog, Vietnamese, Korean, Armenian, Russian, Ukrainian, Persian (Farsi), and Arabic. Whenever possible, we match each patient with a professional who speaks their preferred language, because clear communication is essential to safe, dignified care.

Do you provide nurses and caregivers directly?

As a home health agency, we coordinate skilled nurse and therapy visits for medical care. For non-medical personal care, we can also help families connect with qualified caregivers. Every professional is vetted, and skilled medical care is provided by licensed clinical staff.

How do you keep families updated?

Family communication is central to our care. Our coordinators are available to speak with family members, and we communicate regularly with the patient's physician to keep everyone aligned on the care plan and progress.

Still have questions?

Our care coordinators are happy to help — no commitment required.
